Diversity: This painting series opens a dialogue on the concept of diversity. When you look beyond the physical representation of a person you find personality traits as well as their unique stories. Diversity is not only about embracing different groups of people but it is about embracing the unique qualities of a person.
Texture: As part of my visual conversation my second series link the beauty of jewelry with craftsmanship of printmaking. My collagraphs display various textures that are often used for jewelry design.
I have also created a series of miniature collagraphs that are displayed as the focal point of pendants to highlight its textural quality.
My linocuts are the perfect conclusion for this visual conversation. Four printing blocks were carved and printed to represent the textural quality of both art forms. My concept shows that printmaking and jewelry share the element of texture through our ability to touch and see.
